NoveList (library card number required) is an electronic readers advisory resource, which assists fiction readers in finding new authors and titles. NoveList allows readers to use a favorite author or title as a template to locate other authors and titles of interest. Readers can also enter words that describe the contents of a book they would like to read and NoveList retrieves titles that contain these words in the book subject headings field. NoveList contains materials for all ages including picture books, children’s chapter books, young adult titles and books for adult readers.
The American Library Association’s Notable Books site provides detailed criteria for their selection of adult books. The Notable Books Council of the Reference and User Services Association select titles for their significant contribution to the expansion of knowledge or for the pleasure they can provide to readers.
Publishers Weekly is an international news magazine of book publishing. Information includes books to be published in the near future, and in-depth interviews with top authors.

ALSC - Awards and Grants. The Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association, makes recommendations on notable books, and also awards the following:
Caldecott Medal. This award is given for the best picture books.
Newbery Medal. This awards honors the best children's books.
Coretta Scott King Award. This award has honored outstanding books by African American writers and artists for more than three decades.

The Alex Awards, funded by the Margaret Alexander Edwards Trust, are announced annually in conjunction with National Library Week to honor the top ten books for teenagers published during a calendar year.
